Need help with drag setup sizes

This year I want to change to a drag setup and need to know what the best option is. My cobra makes around 650whp with a t-trim vortech. I'm leaning towards the SVE drag setup but they include 4.5x17 fronts and 15x10" rears with a 275/50/15 m/t street radial. I feel that a 275 will look small, so wondering would running 325/55/15 be a better choice? Also wondering if a nitto 555r (or another option?) in 325/55 be a better choice for the street? My car currently has 315/35/17s nitto nt01 so I do not have quad shocks and fenders are rolled. Any help with this I'd appreciate, my car only gets driven 2-3K a year so the tire lasting is not a big deal. I also have bogarts for my track setup so this new setup would be strictly for street driving/ dig/roll racing.
thank you

The 275/50s should look fine, they are pretty much the same size as a 26/10.5 slick. If that still seems small you could go with a 275/60 which is a 28/10.5. David Pearson has the 275 record with a 4.24 at 171.29 so these tires can hook. A close friend of mine, Brad Edwards has the outlaw drag radial record of 3.97 at 192 on a 315/60 if you really want to hook a big tire ;-)

28's would be easier to hook but hooking a 26 isn't impossible. There was a 26" tire class in the series I used to run a few years back, and those guys were running mid to lower 5's.

since it is just for the street then get the 325's since it will fill up the fender well's more

Although that may be true, you also have to remember this is on the street and most likely the prep won't be as good as a track. And many guys who 60' good on a 26 run ballast too.

OP, I agree with running a 28" tire.

Also if you haven't , plot your suspension.

28in 325/50/15 I just got a killer deal on some used summit brand wheels from a local forum. The 325's fit in there nice.

Thanks guys for the insight and help. Pacificgreen that setup looks great, any issues with them possible hitting the fenders on acceleration or bumps? also for tires you think the M/T street radial is the best choice? the nitto 555r's i had before were not good but they were 315/35's so wondering if a bigger sidewall would help them.

Yes I recommend rolling the quarters, MT's are good tires & I also like M&H. I have A complete Team Z adjustable rear end so my car is set up for 28in rear tires, wich helps.
