I am reviewing the workorders from the Ford dealer for my 2003 Lightning. Back in 2004 (like I can remember that far back) I took my truck in and the service advisor wrote "The SES light is on". Looks like they replaced the DPFE and all things were hunkey-dorey.

What is SES and DPFE? I think I had the dreaded check engine lite come on and that is why I took it to the dealer.

Any help would be appreciated.

Was that a serious problem? The workorder did not indicate anything but replace and retest. Everything was ok after the retest.

Just being curious

The DPFE going bad is TOO common! The earlier ones were housed in plastic and prone to failure prematurely. The replacement and latter examples are housed in metal and are supposed to be more robust. I wouldn't know though. I had the same issue with mine two years ago and have since removed all that shit and turned it off in my tune! :coolman:
