Need help please

I'm about to change my tranny fluid and I was wondering, how many quarts of tranny oil do I need in the T-56 on my cobra? and which would be the best oil for it?

4.1 qts. Ford says Dextron III ATF. Lots of people swear by GM's Syncromesh. I just run Mobil1 Synthetic ATF.
