need help finding the right ignition upgrade

I have a 84 mustang l with a carbureted 347 stroker with 10 to 1 compression and the original duraspark ignition. i have been shopping around for a complete ignition upgrade. i like the msd or the mallory set up but there is a big difference in voltage and Jewel ratings. is to much spark a bad thing? :shrug: i need a little education
