I have done lousy ET's with my Cobra so far because the PPRV
hesitated so badly in between gears. It seemed like it slowed
me a lot. I usually rev the car to 2,500 rpm and feather the
clutch out on launch and then speed-shift each gear to about
6,400 rpm. This only gets me a 1.9 sixty foot at best, if I don't
slip or hop.
I have on the IRS, the IRS brace, Level 2 axles and drag radials.
I do not powershift because I don't want to hurt my bone stock
transmission and imput shaft.
I believe this car to be able to hit a 11.6 or 11.7, if I can drive
it right. I also think it may hit 121 or 122 mph in the quarter.
Any comments will be appreciated very much. Ken

Here's some tips:
MT ET street drag radials
a bypass switch for the intercooler to run when the car's off
You should be able to come off the line at 4000rpm's or higher with MT's, I did
You need to get all the heat out of that blower between runs, I used to plop a bag of ice on it with the intercooler running. I never powershifted my car once but could easily do sub-1.8 short times on any street night, as low as 1.6's with a good track. Now that Fall is here it's time to do some runs. This isn't an easy car to race either and you need seat time to get it into the 11's so get to track and start racing.

Pete, I have the intercooler switch that you installed for me.
It works great. How did you launch? feather or dump?
I don't have line-lock either. I'll be happy if I hit 11's at all.

Does your car wheel hop with the BFG's, I never experienced that with the MT's. I would basically dump the clutch. What gear are you doing the burnout in? Although typically 2nd gear is where you want to be I found it was hard on the clutch and I could get the same short times with a 1st gear burnout. I still suspect your tires are your first problem. I didn't have line lock and didn't really need it. When is the next time you're going to the track? Has anyone videotaped your run so you can analyze your run?

Pete, I do get wheel hop with my BFG drag radials. I do a light
1st gear burnout to clean the tires. I'm going to the track on
Saturday 9/22 and no one has video taped my runs. Ken
