I would love to get 15x10 7.5 bs welds on the rear but thats over 6 weeks.
I need something quick. Currently have 18x10 wheels on.
So either tires (probably slicks since its a stick car)
Or a quick cheap wheel and tire conbo u can get withon a week or two

Any input apreciated. I need to hook. Im currently spinning in third gear flooring it to get on the highway.
Running 275 nitto nt555 currently.
Also wouldnt mind a taller tire?

Thanks

555's aren't that soft... I've gone 1.68 at the track on the R's, but they're all over the place on the street... A 10" rim is perfect for a Mickey Thompson 305/45/18 ET street radial II...
That's my next tire! I'm sure they're better then my NT05R's & I'm getting 1.57's out of those...

It may be different for the track, but I have m&h race masters 275/45/18 on a 18x10 and they hook good! They can hook from a dig with 650hp on my paxton car on the street. Full throttle in any gear and it sticks

Bias ply's work better for a stick, but he said he has 18"rims... Not sure if they make 18" bias ply tires. If you slip the clutch rather then dump it, you can get some pretty impressive 60' times on DR's with a stick

Hmmmm well 15x8 isnt a special order wheel.
I could do 28x9-15st mickey thompson drag slicks
Or just slap on some street radial 2 on my current wheels?

Not sure wich would be best with a stick car...

Will the 305/45/18 work decent? Id be going from 26.6 diameter to over 28.8
Going the 305/35/18 street radial2 id be going down to 26.4

Would the 15x8 and 28x9 slicks hook even when I turn up the boost to get to 1200horse? (Im guessing id want atleasf 15x10 at that point??)

The radials have a wider contact patch and softer compound
The slicks are recommended for manual trans and the soft sidewall should help it hook.

Arggg decisions decisions

I've had 28x9"s on a stick car... They hook really hard & drag less then a 10.5 going down the track...

So if you where in my situation (knowing youll need a low 9 high 8 capable tire next year)
Wich short term solution would you go for?
28x9 slicks, 305/45 or 305/35 et streets 2?

Your asking for an awful lot... You already have 18" rims so get the 305/45/18's for this year... They'll go high to mid nines, but don't expect much more out of them. You'll need 28x10 slicks on a 10" rim for next year... And a spare trans... And a spare axle ;)
