Here is the plan. Right now my 1998 CSVT needs the timing chain tensioner and the tranny replaced. The tranny works but third has developed a grind at high rpms. My wife is going to let me do some work on the car. This is the stuff I am looking for eiter a 3l swap and tranny or tranny and supercharger etc. I have had the car for 2 years and it only has 82k on it. I want to try and keep the cost to $3000 for everything because I still have to buy tires. Is there a good mechanic that could do this in Dallas? I know any mechanic could do a swap with the 3lduratec.com motor but it is about $2500 and I still have to get a tranny and labor. I did find rebuilt transmissions on contour.org from a 1999 CSVT for $300 but I thought I read they will not hold under the 3l without modification?
