Nascar 2005 Controller setup....

hey guys sorry to ask such a stupid question, but we got a madcat 2 steering wheel and pedels, and we cant figure out how to use the shifter...i know it says to hit the program button, and the LED should light up, but i doesnt. I have the game paused and the button still wont light up.


we can calibrate the steering wheel fine, but no dice on changing the auto to a manuel with the stick shift paddle on the side of our steering box. help.

oh yeah, its for the Xbox. and yes we ride the technologically challenged short school bus.
