so my alt came out today and when i turned it by hand it was making a scratching sound on the inside, like something was not right, i tried to take it apart and it was nasty and rusty and i decided to just go with a new alt from napa. I got it for 194 plus tax and it comes with a lifetime warranty, if it fails EVER as long as i own the car, its replaced no questions asked. that was better then the 1 year ford was offering on a remand alt for 180 plus tax. Has anyone every used this as a replacement for the stocker?

I've heard people complain about Napa/Autozone alts. They tend to fail fairly quickly. Althought they replace them free of charge I personally rather pay a little more than deal with the inconvenience of being stranded somewhere. Generally people buy a stock replacement or a start n charge.
