I've got a N2MB WOT Box in my car. I was thinking I'd like to take advantage of the built-in rev limiting feature and adjust it to something more conservative (let's say 6300 RPM). Do you think using the N2MB's rev limiter poses any undue risk vs just relying on the factory limiter?
In other words, does the N2MB's method of limiting RPM pose any threat to the engine components? I have read a lot on how using the two-step function of the WOT Box has risks associated with it; that's why I'm curious about the rev limiter. Apparently the N2MB two-step and the rev limiter are both simple spark cuts, but with the rev limiter, you're not sitting on it for more than a half second or so. With the 2-step, you're obviously sitting on it for a lot longer while you wait for the Christmas tree to fall.
I don't plan to bounce off the limiter either way; I don't beat on or track the car. That said, I'd just like to eliminate the potential of unintentionally racking it up into that over-rev territory.
