They usually have pretty steep safety precautions, i'm surprised they thought shooting a cannonball at 1000ft/s at a couple of plastic trash cans filled with water was a good idea. Should make an interesting episode.

In 1994 a National Guard FA unit was at Camp Grayling MI and was pre cutting charges and actually forgot to cut one of the charges and fired a charge 5 105mm round from a M119. The round fired out of the impact area and nailed a mobile home. Fortunately, the family was at the movies watching Forrest Gump. There was shrapnel all over the main bedroom and anyone in that bed would have died.

The article I read this morning stated that the family in the home didn't actually wake up to the cannonball flying through the house but instead they woke up to the plaster dust from the sheet rock. How in the hell do you not wake up as a cannonball blasts through your house and cleanly through a bedroom wall? Either way crazy stuff for sure. They got incredibly lucky that no one got hurt.
