Well I finally got my car back and broken in 500 miles and dyno tuned. Its been 3 months in the process.Heads up my wifes car has 373 gears,cai,2.80 pulley, headers,x pipe, flowmasters catback, with a custom tune.315 35 17 nittos drags. My car stroked dart block balance and blue printed sfi balancer and billet flywheel (347) Afr 185's comp xe282hr edlebrock 2 intake 30 lb injectors, longtubes x pipe flowmaster dumps. It has everything possibly can have($20,000) in receipts.Anyway my wife and I went out to test it out to see who has the (fastest) stang.Well to make a long story short I spanked her ASS pretty hard.3 times and from a stop to 4 gear i pulled at least 5-6 car lengths on her.So now i can't what to see what she runs now old setup I was running 10's(150 N20).Hoping low 11's or 10's on motor now.

I have a '91 notch and it too is getting ready for an AFR/347/30#/DART rebuild very simular to yours. Even with just minor bolt-on's it does suprising well (except against one late-model Lightning that tore the coupe a butthole :burnout: ).

I would expect the rwhp to be in the what, low/mid-400rwhp range without NOS? And figure the notch weighs about the same as a Honda Accord at about 3000-3100 pounds vs. 3660 for the 03.

Oh, and just for reference, the new C6 Z06 will have 500 hp and it too weighs about what a fox coupe does, so you all can see the problem we're gonna have here shortly.. :)

Very nice kill, and more importantly it sounds like you have two very bad azz cars. With all the money you put in your motor, I think its only fair to buy your wife a KB.

Yes, 03socalcobra , about right but 400-450 rwhp will be at least 500 fwhp.Plus there is always someone else faster. Remember 1 thing it does no good if you can't plant that power to the ground. My old setup 306 H,CI,+150 shot of nitrous ran a best 10.58@128mph(1.51)60ft.Average 10.60's-10.80's.My car should run mid to low 10's N/A.

20k in mods is really not alot consider that includes bumper to bumper.(engine to transmission to rear to suspension to brakes to wheels and tires). Also new paint and nice little sound system, plus I did 99% of the work with the help of my uncle(who owns a mech shop). With the money I have in the car + what i paid for it 4 yrs ago is less than 24k considered my wife's Cobra 32k + 1500 in performance mods.

Every combo I have read about with AFR 185's and a XEComp 282HR have made crazy power and hauled ass. I was sold when I read in MM&FF about the 302 with notched stock pistons , out of the box 185's, Comp 282 XE, Hooker 1-3/4 longtubes, Vic Jr, 650 demon made 455HP and 400TQ on an engine dyno. I plan to build a similar combo for my 87 Notch!! Must be something about the 185's and 282 they just must be a great match!

87fcoupe, imo fox bodies always will have the advantage, lighter in weight, esp with a dart/ford racing block can get lots of cubes, put a heavy duty s/c, turbo, n20, auto, low 10's, high 9's are easy to do. I would even venture to say my base 69, only p/s could beat my 03 with a big cube windsor/auto/sc or n2o. It would be lighter by a bit than the 03, 200,300 lbs, more hp.
