So yeah, I dont know what to put as far as oil goes. My first car and I dont know if it is whether 10w 30 or like the guy at jiffy lube said 5w 30 is recommended for my toyota. It is just a 2002 Camry... am I suppose to be looking into other things to make my car last longer? I am in College so I dont think I can afford my little car dying on me. thanks guys!

175,500,000 miles is a lot.

I knew Toyotas were long-lasting but shit.

They last longer than Stride.

My DD focus is at 305,000 km's (about 190,000 mi) and for the last 20k or so I have been using that QS High Mileage. It's supposed to condition your seals, so you may want to consider that also

I hit 228,478.5 on my 1993 Chevy Lumina Euro Sport before it kicked the bucket with a broken timing chain...it wasn't pretty but was a DD beater car. I was using Valvoline MaxLife Synthetic Blend 5W-30 for high mileage cars and alternated between Regular Fram and Fram High Mileage oil filters every other oil change. My current DD is a 2003 Explorer 4.0L and I am using the same oil and filter regiment...currently up to 150,000 miles. I attached a pic of the Lumina odometer because no one ever believes me when I say how many miles it got.

Haha i was thinking the same thing.

Get some Quaker State high mileage. It really did seem to help my friends 1990 BMW with 110K on when we switched over to it. Smoked less and ran smoother

I gave away my '91 Toyota Celica STX to a friend's daughter before I moved to El Paso. It had almost 250,000 and still got 34mpg!

My grandfather is a NYC cab driver (since 1962) and had an 84 Ford crown vic 5.0 with 564,000 miles on it. Never had the valve covers off. Sold it off due to the TLC's new rule on how long to keep cabs. He had a 96 that I got with 277,000 and an 03 that has 240,000 (my sister has it). He currently has an 07 with 90,000, all Crown vics. He uses whats recommended from the factory and an additive, along with oil changes every 2 weeks, (doesn't go by miles). I'd say maybe switch to a high mileage oil or keep doing what you're doing. Seems to be working fine....

Toyotas are just getting broken in at 176000 miles. That car will last you a LONG time if you take care of it.

I have 196k on my Explorer, so 176k is nothing. Now, 176,000k is something spectacular. :D

Don't change the weight change the blend if you must do anything. You could switch to the Valvoline high mileage blend, but honestly I would just keep using whatever it calls for and call it a day. Thicker oil isn't going to make it somehow last longer. If anything you will cause it to flow less oil.
