my brake light comes on in the dash when i apply the brake pedal

why is this. Its the same light thats turned on when the e brake is pulled. I just redid my brakes and had ford tighten the e brake and im thinking they over did it? It doesnt happen when i slightly hold the brake pedal only when i add medium to hard pressure when braking.
I remember reading back in the day something about the handbrake, some recall or bulletin? mine wiggles from side to side and instead of ford fixing it like i asked they tightened the cables instead. The wiggle has also been tearing into the leather when its pulled up. It rubs the plastic side. Any way of me fixing this?

It's an idicator for brake issues that are not ABS related. I had the light, filled the fluid, light gone.

mine did it when the pads were low. I changed the pads and it went away. It doesnt always do it when the pads get low but I have seen it do it on several occasions.
