(This thread is a copy on another forum I am on)

Long story short both my parents passed away recently. When I put my father in hospice, he told me to get a new truck, a new car hauler, and build me up a race car to do a burnout in his asshes....

So a few days after he went onto hospice I went out got a 2015 F-350, 20' car hauler, and a 2014 Mustang GT.

I called my buddies, mainly Mike Cotter, at LRS(I grew up and raced with most of the employes there as I lived in waco over 20 years) and placed an order for the wheels/tires/suspension components the day i bought the car. They had the catback, and grill accessories in stock so I figured why not.

Went up to waco the weekend after my father passed to pick up the parts. Mike Cotter, another friend, and I went to work lowering the car and putting the suspension on. Came out with this...

A few weeks later I ordered everything else from LRS and HPP.

My ultimate goal is to have a completely reliable 1200+rwhp street car. I want to be able to do dragweek and the power tour in this car and not have to worry.

Manny and the HPP staff have been awesome working with me and answering all my questions. LRS has be straight up awesome as well. Two very stand up companies.

Ran the car at Royal purple Raceway. 84 degrees and 90%+ humidity. I was really impressed with the mustang, as the most the other vettes, camaros, and mustangs were running in the low 13's at a lower MPH. One thing I learned is that I never turned the advanced trac off completely. It felt like the car was bogging down to me.

only modifications were:
Steeda billet lower control arms
Steeda Adjustable Panhard bar
Ford Racing P Springs
Koni Adjustables
Nitto NT05 305's
Magnaflow 3" catback
SCT X4 canned 93 tune

I was still waiting for parts to get in from LRS and HPP, but this one weekend I went up to Waco and picked up some California Special fog lights and their billet shorty antenna.

Friday, I'll be there to put my car on LRS's dyno so we can get a before and after hellion system.

Went to LRS. Jmac wanted to place my car on the dyno to get a base line and to load a SVE tune on the car. I don't remember the numbers but it picked up a good amount, and the transmission shifting was awesome. Just sad I only put about 60 miles on the tune before I put the car on the lift Friday night and started tearing it apart.

Got a lot done to the car, but caught my wife's cold and it put me out of commission by the evening.

Hope to "finish" the car next weekend. Then towing it up to HPP.

So got 90% of the turbo system installed. Then took it mostly back apart and dropped the car off at HPP.

Welded up the oil drain fittings into the pan, and wrapped the headers(my first time ever to wrap).

Also..buy an aftermarket k-member, you can get the top starter bolt back in.

Siiiiick. Sorry to hear about your parents, really cool what your dad said to do though. Good luck with the build, I'll be following it.

I know how hard it can be to lose your parents. I decided to spend all my time working on cars rather then resort to the bottle or other bad things to take my mind off of it. Can't wait to see your car when its all done.

Sad to hear about your loss. Based on the thread timing/date it seems like it was at least several months back? Anyway, congrats on what will be an awesome machine

Yes, my mother passed away in June of breast cancer at 59, and my father in August with bladder cancer at 62.

Thanks everyone,

I'm finally starting to get excited about this car as it should be together in 2 weeks. There is a possibility my 2015 GT will be done at the same time. So I won't know which one to drive.

Awesome build...I think it's great that you are able to do everything right the first time. This thing is gonna be a badass and I look forward to seeing how it turns out. You live in Texas...sure would be cool to run the Texas Mile.
