Let’s put it this way. I’m ALWAYS open to the “I’ll give you 50-70k and build it like you’d build it for yourself” type arrangement. That’s kinda what I’m using this car to advertise. I’m really no longer interested in traditional bolt on builds. Not that there’s anything wrong with them at all!! There’s just no artistic expression in it for me as a designer/builder.
I love that. I don’t profit great on lighting designs and ideas with my electrical business but when customers let us do our thing the results really showcase our skills and keeps us in demand. That’s what drives the real revenue. Sent from my iPhone using the svtperformance.com mobile app
Unique, ha we have two just like it here in my town........NOT. You have something special there my friend.
It might be my personal preference and I mean this in the nicest way possible but the intake piping doesn’t come close to living up to everything else around it. View attachment 1690630 My extremely poor attempt to illustrate it. Sent from my iPhone using svtperformance.com
No disrespect taken! My suggestion, wait until it’s in it’s finished form whether polished, powdered, or painted. The raw material makes it tough to appreciate so I understand where you’re coming from
That was my thought as well, although I’ve never been a huge fan of the pie cut look either and I know many are. I can absolutely appreciate the craftsmanship it took, but it gives a cobbled look to me. Hoping that opinion changes once it’s in its final form.
When it’s polished and the welds are knocked down your eye won’t be nearly as drawn to it. I actually prefer sections for THIS car because I want there to be no mistake that this was fabbed weld by weld. Trust me here guys....I promise you won’t be disappointed.
Me too. Aluminum donuts with crazy tight radius’ are readily available. Way quicker to fab, they look a million times better and you don’t have to worry about ensuring the integrity of a 100 times the length of weld. The pie cut stuff just screams hey look I got a welder for Christmas. Sent from my iPhone using the svtperformance.com mobile app
Awesome symmetrical layout! The pie cuts Luik great on stainless as it highlights quality welds and throws off the beautiful colors from heat(also highlights quality welds-penetration) people who think it’s a fad or don’t like it are usually shitty welders or don’t under weld porn. But after all, the build is for you and your brother and your team. I alway appreciate you sharing your dream car Sent from my iPhone using svtperformance.com
Raw aluminum looks like crap no matter how nice the welds...and his are super nice. Thankfully if I wanted I could literally knock the welds down smooth while polishing. Again, it’s being seen as an unfinished product. Next time everyone sees this engine bay together it will be totally different. It all comes right back out after turbo fab
I too am not a fan of the intake pipe but I’ll wait to see the finished product as there is many route you can go to make it look perfect
Some of you are wayyy to impatient. You get 100% penetration so you have the option to knock down the welds and FINISH the metal. The small and subtle angles needed to merge the TB and cooler are not easily achieved without multiple welds. There’s a lot more shape to those pipes than meet the eye. Not a straight run. Let me do my thing and we’ll come back to these posts in a couple months so you can apologize for doubting me if you don’t understand my expectations for a finished product by now than I don’t know what to say
Ps I love you guys and your feedback. I’m not sensitive to matters of taste and opinion. That’s all part of it!
