Regarding the FR500 modded NA 4.6 I have been working on (power #'s based on 2 pulls each):

Runner control via MSD Window Switch
Runner control 0-2500 Short Runners (noise control)
Runner control 2501-4700 Long Runners (torque
Runner control 4701-7500+ Short Runners (horsepower)

Standard ignition

2500 RPM 298 TQ/ 179 HP
3000 RPM 320 TQ/ 200 HP
3500 RPM 347 TQ/ 241 HP
4000 RPM 351 TQ/ 293 HP
4500 RPM 359 TQ/ 339 HP
5000 RPM 362 TQ/ 345 HP
5500 RPM 341 TQ/ 368 HP
6000 RPM 326 TQ/ 374 HP
6500 RPM 315 TQ/ 379 HP
7000 RPM 299 TQ/ 395 HP
7300 RPM 289 TQ/ 401.6 HP (still making power)

+ GMS COP

2500 RPM 299 TQ/ 180 HP
3000 RPM 320 TQ/ 201 HP
3500 RPM 346 TQ/ 240 HP
4000 RPM 349 TQ/ 292 HP
4500 RPM 357 TQ/ 338 HP
5000 RPM 360 TQ/ 341 HP
5500 RPM 340 TQ/ 365 HP
6000 RPM 325 TQ/ 372 HP
6500 RPM 312 TQ/ 375 HP
7000 RPM 297 TQ/ 395 HP
7300 RPM 287 TQ/ 398 HP (not making power - flatline then decreasing)

- GMS COP + MSD Stacker (which came with the car - I never used it before)

2500 RPM 298 TQ/ 181 HP
3000 RPM 322 TQ/ 202 HP
3500 RPM 349 TQ/ 242 HP
4000 RPM 354 TQ/ 295 HP
4500 RPM 363 TQ/ 342 HP
5000 RPM 361 TQ/ 348 HP
5500 RPM 341 TQ/ 368 HP
6000 RPM 327 TQ/ 377 HP
6500 RPM 312 TQ/ 382 HP
7000 RPM 303 TQ/ 398 HP
7300 RPM 300 TQ/ 406 HP (still making power)

What is this all about ? Any explanations ? It's not much but a Naz says, "every little bit helps".

first run was "stock"
second run was with GMS COP
third run you went back to stock COP's but put a Stacker 8 on it?
Did you mess with the plug gap?

Right first run was FR500 components; Cobra stock ignition; second was GMS COP (did mess with the plug gap). The MSD Stacker on stock COP's (GMS COPs removed) made a nice difference at the top end mainly. To be fair though, I do want to spend a lot more time with the GMS COP in about 2 weeks because of the potential.

No time til Oct. 18.

Did you reverse the polaritys with the GMS COPS?

I just installed the GMS COPS in my car. I opened up the gap from .032 to .037 and have no blowout. Seat of the pants tells me that it pulls a little harder. It definatley drives smoother mainly due to opening up the plug gap. I still have to get the car dynoed to log any differences.

I opened my gap to .045 with no blowout and GMS COP's. I used the Stacker 8 and had blowout. Go figure. Took it off.

Stupid question, but I've never experienced blow out before. What does it sound like? Do hear misfire? What are the signs when blowout takes place?

Don't really hear it. It is misfire on one or more cylinders. No smoothe and steady power increase but quite jerky.

I want to take mine to .040 next. I probably won't change them again until I get to a dyno.
