Since we are discussing MPSS in another thread,,thought I'd toss this out.

I've talked with multiple tire dealers about 101 vs 105 width,,they all tell me that these numbers have nothing to do with width,,this is load carry numbers.

Are the 105Y wider that 101Y, and by how much?? 295 is what I'm after.

09troublmaker has the look I'm after, just trying to understand the width thing.

XL K1 looks like what I'm after. Thanks.

Still not figured out why 105 is wider than 101,,,,wider footprint=more load=(105Y)

Crazy but you can actually tell the difference side by side. When I went to get them put on, the shop had the same size in 295/101's to look at.

The shop did say they're wider because of the load distribution...

Finally, somebody admits they are wider, your shop guy. Another thing, did you rub the bump stops with those 295's, or all good, no mods.

Good,,,nice to hear. I should be good with my Eibachs Pro Kit. Not as an extreme drop like the Sportlines.

If you're at stock ride height, do you need to work about rubbing? Or is it just guys that have altered the ride height?

Stock height, running MPSS 295's, you should have no issues. The lowered cars wheel gap is reduced increasing the possibility of a rub.

My 295 MPSS in the 105 load range are as wide as most 305's. It almost looks like the tire is to wide for the rim by the side bulge, but still works.

10"-11.5" is the preferred rim width,,,the 9.5" stock rims seem to work.
