What motor oil/weight do you guys recommend for track use in a '95 and the '00 R? Thanks.

It depends. I use 10W30 (or 5W30) Mobil 1 with a stock 95R engine or 20W50 Mobil 1 in a 95R race engine--the engine builder said 20W50.

I've gone 25 race weekends with Mobil 1 (8 quarts and two filters) with no noticeable bearing wear (but a lot of valve train wear ;-) -- not necessarily an oil issue).

JMO.I remember a thread here or on another Mustang board that went 25 pages. Fair warning. ;-)

I believe in KISS (keep it simple, stupid). There are a lot of ways to go broke tracking a car.

Totally different motor designs and tolerances from the factory.

If you are asking about an original motor I would go 10-30 in the 351.

I believe the 5.4s were a specific weight for an R.
