Mortorcraft Alternator Differences?

Bought a Remy Alternator last year that screeched from the beginning and after around 300 miles the screeching is now unbearable. Of course I now decide to deal with it and its a month and a half out of warranty.

Looking at the Motorcraft Alts I see part numbers:

NGL-7781-N ~$157.12
4U2Z-10V346-CQRM ~$172.48

Anyone know the differences?

The Motorcraft remans for this car have all been noisy, with mostly premature failures on my 97. I went through 3 in a couple years time (warranty replacements). The current one is still working, but not as quiet as I would prefer.
