Seems like posting here can be a pain at times. I have posted a trip or two to the track in the past, only to have someone dig up the post and times later in a lame attempt to make fun of what I ran after I commented elsewhere in some other thread. I have explained that first of all it has been many years since my last track time ,and that I was trying to figure out how to run the Cobra...launching and shifting etc. seems a whole lot different than in my past cars. Along with traction issues from stock tires etc...

Anyway, today was the last day of our season up here. Castrol Raceway elevation 2200 ft above sea level. http://www.castrolraceway.com/Drag.html

Since today was Thanksgiving and a holiday we started with the Street Legals at 11:00 AM and ran all afternoon. Weather was warm and sunny not hot (Canadian fall..lol).

Lots of cars and long waits to run which changed as the afternoon went on and the crowd thinned out. My son and I were able to get 8 runs in each so that was pretty good. Lots of fun.

My car just to refresh you. 04 Oxford White Cobra coupe with full aftermarket exhaust (Magnaflow and MRT catted H) and K&N . MGW shifter and Boze alloy wheels with GS D3 18" tires.

My sons car 94 White GT with stock 230,000 kilometer 5.0 and 100 shot of nitrous. 18" wheels and Falken tires.

My runs were like being in school and making mistakes..lol first forgetting to turn the traction control off...bog. Then just figuring out launching and shifting.
We dropped the 295 GS D3 pressures down to 22 psi and that helped. The runs got better as we went and my last 2 runs were the best.

Run 1
R/T .454
60' 1.935
330 5.445
1/8 8.361
MPH 86.20
1000 10.861
1/4 12.967
MPH 107.29

Run 2
R/T .474
60' 1.933
330 5.448
1/8 8.357
MPH 86.28
1000 10.855
1/4 12.953
MPH 107.59

Looks like I am finally getting it ...lol I was happy with the runs, still on street tires. I think DRs will make a difference next summer.

My son managed to get better with each run too running a best of 13.7 on the day.

A good day all in all. :burnout:
