I realize it's probably hated on here but I'll throw my recent project out for criticism.

Wife's 04 GT. Original redfire has major clear problems. Instead of new paint job we started playing with Plastidip.

For the last year it has been Nebula Red

Peeled it last week and went with a new color

This one is for the "sandpaper" people

And a last shot of the dd's. Did the focus in June.

Realistically about a year on bright colors before it fades. You don't notice until you get into areas that don't get sunlight.

The product itself will last longer.

If I get a solid year I'm happy. It's held up to road debris very well. I average 25k miles in the Focus each year. So far I've hit an 18 Wheeler blowout and other items with no real damage.

Lol at the painted fogs, the color looks cool. Whats your process?
I forgot to peel them until after pictures. All is clear now.

Just clean car with Dawn. Wipe down with alcohol and spray. I tape any areas too large to get enough product to peel (windows).

Takes me about 8 hours from start to finish.

I give it points for creativity. I like the color changing ones. I've thought about having my ST done professionally just to change things up

curious, how much does it cost you to dip the entire car?

While I don't care for the color choice, it does look like it's done well.
I have about $350 in each including prep, masking and cleaning materials.

The parts that are left dipped (key holes, reflectors, emblems) are per my wife's request. If it was my choice it would look like oem.

Don't hate on Plastidip - it's pretty cool stuff and completely reversible. It's funny - their are guys dipping their Aventador's, R8's, 458's, Gallardo's, Huracan's etc - but it's the dude with the '98 Camaro Z/28 that complains how 'ricer' it is lmao

That looks really good. Aside from the fact that you can do it in your garage for $350.00

That looks as good as a 2K wrap. After seeing your car I am now considering it for my old Explorer.
