Hey Guys. help me make a decision. Car currently has a steggy ported blower at 17psi with a dry 55 shot. It put down 510 on boost, and 550 with spray.

My thoughts are

Go with a 3.4 and make big power but a lot of money

Pick up a used smaller kb or whipple, but will I gain that much more over the Steggy. what's a safe boost on a stock motor?

Rejet the dry shot to a 150 and retune. The car has huge injectors!

Put a wet kit on and shoot for a 150 shot?

I know there is a lot of options there, and different opinions, and I know I could be getting close to the limits of a stock engine, but what would be the best bet to go with out of the options??

Thanks for any input

I say upgrade to a 2.3 Whipple or 2.4 KB. With a race gas tune you can make 650 rwhp. You will have the power at all times without refilling the bottle.

That's the power I'm shooting to make. I would like to make around the 650 mark. filling a bottle wouldnt be the end of the world because I have a fill station, but it would probably be more fun doing it on all blower! Thanks. Keep the opinions coming!

What are your goals?
I ran a steg stage 3 at 16lbs with a dry 100 shot that got my vert in the 10.4s.
Numbers were 517/510 and 615/660 on spray.
My current blower is an Eaton TVS 2.3 with 635/636 on pump gas.
I may spray it in the future and see if I can get close to a 9.

I ran an 11.37 at 124 with a 1.77 60 in the 550hp trim
I think at a well prepped track with a decent 60 I could knock .2 off the et. I just got the car, and could use a retune. a/f is in the 10.60 range on spray. With all the customer cars, I didnt have time to throw my own on the dyno and retune.

I would like to see the car in the mid 10s and closer to the 650 range. so I need about 100hp

It all depends on your budget.
Based on my experience a 100 shot should get you where you want to be.
Having 600+ at the wheels full time is a blast but spray is cheap easy power.

I would hit it with a 100-125 dry but no more than that. With a wet shot I wouldnt go higher than a 175-200 hit. The eaton/spray combo is deadly on the street. If you hook in 2nd gear with atleast 100 shot you will be a tough car to catch on the streets.

1. I think 150 hp on nos is too much, do 100 shot. My buddy added a 100 shot and got the 100hp but got 300+ pounds of torque.

2. If you want a ts thats cool. 600 rwhp is great. 17-19 psi is great for pump fuel.

3. Run taller tires will help with nos too. More roll out and more tq=fun

If you are using a 55hp dry shot right now, why not move that up to a 100 dry shot and see if you like the results before spending money on a whipple? Seems like a good place to start from.
