Mods = warranty?

does anyone know what mods will void warranty? I know I can put the factory parts back on if I need service but I heard that svt sends their own inspectors before any warranty work is done

I had to bring my truck in a few times already to fix things that were loose/unistalled and nobody inspected anything. But that may be because it wasnt motor work

I had to take my L in for warranty work on an aftermarket exhaust mount that broke loose. They took my L for a spin to see where the sound was coming from and returned to tell me what was causing and that they could fix it. They did not ask me anything about the aftermarket exhaust or any of my mods. They just fixed it.

Who knows what or if they will inspect on your L?

just about any mod will cause the dealer to void warrenty
all depends on the dealer, a chip will most deffanetly (sp?) void it

Just make sure and keep ALL your stock parts. I had to put mine back to bone stock to get the blown spark plug fixed.

Each dealer has some amount of discretion. Some just want warranty work and will fix things as long as they arent too big(like an engine or trans). If it is big/expensive fix a Ford rep will come down and the first they look for is mods. Once they see the silicone missing from the chip port they start investigating further.

It is a hit or miss.
