I am new to the 03 Cobra world, and would like some advice.
First off let me say that this a hell of a nice car. A lot different than my 97 Cobra is.

What mods, and brands are you guys using for new parts?

I want to do the exhaust, pulley, CAI, shifter, and gears?

~Thanks,
Jeremy

you may get some responses but your best tool for answers is to use the SEARCH button. you'll find some excellent discussions.

Yeah, guess I was too late. But because I know it's annoying not to get any responses, I'll give some 2 cents.

I went with the MAC cat-back and off-road H-pipe, Johnny Lightning Cold Air intake (with K&N), Steeda Tri-Ax shifter, custom subframe connectors, Maximum Motorsport IRS bushing upgrade and anti-wheel hop IRS welded plate, and Reichardt (sp?) Racing 2.8 upper pulley.

Other brands you might want to try are: Bassani, Magnaflow for exhaust, Densecharger, Steeda for CAI, Kenny Brown or Maximum Motorsport subframes, Metco pulleys (Amazon Racing uses them I think), BilletFlow or Accufab Throttle Bodies, etc.

Lots of info here. Do some browsing and searching.

Everything but gears. I had 3.73 gears on my 95, but I think that the 3.55 gears on the 03 are more than enough, especially on a supercharged car.

How much did the MAC O/R H cost you? How much RWHP do you think the O/R H netted you in addition to the catback?

How's that non-slip pulley working for ya? Do you use idler pulleys too?

Welcome!!
In addition to a search, you may want to check back issues of MM&FF or 5.0 to see what they have been using. Like past cobras and mustangs, the aftermarket guys haven't changed much. Since you had a 97 Cobra, you should know the good ones. Another thing is to check other peoples' sigs and PM them as to their results. Good luck and let the modding begin!

Thanks for the advice!

Sorry I didn't use the search button. I got tired of using it on the corral and coming up with a whole lot of nothing, but since you all recommend it I will do that from now on.
I appreciate all the help tus far though.

And don't forget, at the top of the forum is the 2003 Cobra FAQ. Lots of good stuff in there.

The off-road cost me $100. I'm thinking 5 - 10 or so, but I didn't dyno it, just from SOTP. I am not using the idler and so far no slip and no shredding, but I will be getting the idler for added assurance and better looks. :)

ok so you know of search now....my opinion would be
1. Sub-frames
2. Shifter
3. CAI
4. Exhaust
I dont want to go farther than that or give brands cause it can be easy for us users to get out of hand. Kinda start here, go from there.

heres what i did from stock to where the car is now:
remove silencer - and swap in K&N

shifter
bassani x pipe and catback
Densecharger CAI - BAD BAD BAD
2.8 pulley and autologic custom tune chip with 74 inch NAPA belt
boost gauges

So heres how the basic mod list goes
2.8 pulley with idler pulley
Chip (need to have with pulley)
74 inch belt (i prefer napa over goodyear)
JLP CAI (great CAI, ram air, good pricing, great quality)
Mid-Pipe and Catback (must have)

All of these are excelent suggestions.

I appreciate the help! THis list is definately different from where I started on my 97. The prices are definately going to be less than the amount that I spent on my 97 also.

I have a brand new NOVI 1000 for sale also for a 96-98 Cobra if you guys know anyone that wants one. It is still in the box.
