Ok guys my car has 96k miles and has a 2.7 pulley as the only mod. I has talked to Van about some ideas I had, I'm a little hesitant on doing anything to the car rigt now cos it's a daily driver and I'm not sure how much it could handle with the miles it has. Let me hear what you guys think I should do.

Not sure exactly what mods you're considering and how you intend to use the car from a performance standpoint, but I'd go for it! You could very easily get your Eaton setup to 550 to 600 RWHP or just throw a TVS on there for 600+.

mileage is just a number. do a compression test and make sure you have good oil pressure. mod away.

I had thought about the basics of intake, o/r x or h pipe, catback and tune. I had thought maybe getting a '13 TVS and possibly a IW lower and long tubes. I think it's the miles that are making me nervous and I can't swing buying a new motor right now. Are there any 600+hp cars with high miles out there?

How long have you owned the car? If you've owned it for a good while and have taken care of the car like others have said mod away.

Exactly what car are we talking about? what year shelby?

Conodition will be a function of how well it was cared for and how hard it was run.

With daily driver duty and good maintenance, 90k miles is nothing.

It's a 07 GT500, I've only owned it for about 6 months. I bought it because it was a hell of a deal and it needed a little tlc. I honestly don't know how well it was treated by the previous owners. It has a 2.7 blower pulley but everything else is stock. The only problem I've noticed and I think it may be heat soak is even when I'm just cruising around it feels like a loss of power. I'm not that familiar with a Shelby, I'm more familiar with terminators and Z06 so that's why I'm asking for any help or advice.

If you want consistent power I would put a different heat exchanger in there. I have the afco dual fan heat exchanger. People say the dual fan is nice for road racing and if you track the car heavily. I don't but I like doing everything big the first time in case i get the idea of wanting to with bigger power the extra cooling of the fans will always help. I can drive around for along time and punch it on multiple occasions and the heat soak is nothing compared to what it use to be. It is a beautiful upgrade and much needed. I also put a 170 degree reisch t-stat, It is safe to say my car shrugs the heat off right now like its nothing.

Also you said 2.7 only mod? No tune? or CAI? That pulley alone is generated extensive heat for your car with the stock h/e. Heat kills engine life in my opinion. I would definitely get some sort of H/e for first upgrade. Sorry if im responding to old post. sometimes I look at older ones just to read and catch up on info.

I have been looking at the heat exchanger that Van sells. Once I found out it had no tune I stopped getting on it an just drive real slow which seems to confuse people to see a shelby going that slow. I wanted to wait till I had the money to get the h/e, thermostat, intake, upper and lower control arms and a tvs all at once. Just been hard to do it with my wife in and out of the hospital :/ Thanks for the replys guys.

You could never go wrong with improving the cooling and traction. Gears and a driveshaft give a nice return performance wise. I wouldn't do the blower at this point. Go to TeamShelby there is a thread about mileage and a lot of high mileage cars still running strong.

Forget the upgrades... Family first! I hope your wife is ok!

Thank you man! Her health is better then what it was a few months ago, she is having to go to specialists now but she gets drained every now and then. I'm not worried about the mods right now so that is why I made the post. I wanted to know the best options for my car given the miles and just do it all at once when she's done with the Dr's.
