Moates Chips?

I just stumbled onto these but I also know zilch about tuning and this seems pretty intimately hands on. I am willing to learn but wanted to get yalls takes, expieriences, etc. Anyone have any expierience with these chips? Assuming you are motivated, are they easy to learn?

Why not go with an Xcal2 or Sniper?

I never have seen anything for OBDI. I have also never seen the sniper. I found their site but it confused the hell out of me. Explain? I want two things. A chip that will either do the car right on its own or one that will let me set it up right, probably with datalogging and I would like at least 2 modes for gas saving and performance. Software is always good. I dont really want to get a ready made chip that just is one size fits all, especially with my far from stock configuration.
