Modular Mustang Racing (MMR), Camarillo CA is pleased to announce its newest entry into the Pro Door slammer drag racing community. Its new Jerry Haas GT500 Tube Chassis is slated for the Pro classes in PSCA, NMCA and possibly NHRA competition in the coming seasons. Manley Performance, Accel EFI, and BorgWarner have signed on to the new venture supplying MMR with some great new and existing parts from their catalogs. The new MMR GT500 is slated to be driven by PSCA Hot shoe and Multi time record holder Greg-Seth Hunter allowing current MMR Driver Mark Luton to continue focusing on the Outlaw 10.5 events. Greg, head engine builder for MMR and familiar face on the west coast scene with his Twin Turbo Blue Nova is excited about his new venture stating "I am looking forward to testing the new car, we feel it will be a great test bed for some of the new products we have been working on and a rolling billboard for our company and sponsors".

The New GT500 is powered by a Twin turbocharged MMR built 5.4 Liter Ford Modular DOHC, full of Manley Performance parts and a similar powerplant as used in MMR's outlaw Machine that has run as quick as 6.99 @ 205 on the little 29.5 x 10.5w slicks. The new ride will be campaigned on gasoline initially, with a change to methanol in the seasons ahead. The transmission is a Rossler spec'd Turbo 400 with power being pushed through a Pro Torque converter. Engine management of course is handled by a new Accel EFI unit while the boost comes from a pair of BorgWarners new high tech Air Werks line measuring in at 88mm.

The new car is expected to debut at the PSCA Street car super National where MMR looks to put its new ride into the low 6 second zone and work down from there in a very competitive and established class. MMR owner Mark Luton went on to say " we have a long road ahead of us, but if racing at this level was easy everyone would be doing it, we have great respect for the racers and teams in this class and the achievements they have made".

Saw the Jegs Chevy small block TT complete in Pro Mod and was very surprised to see it was holding its own against all the traditional Pro Mod setups. If you can get a handle on planting the power this should be very interesting to watch! Cant wait to see it run!
