ok...we all know the phrase "someone's on your six" how does the clock work?

meaning...when you telling someone "look at 3oclock or look at 10oclock or 12oclock."

i was having a discussion with someone who says that the clock is as if you are looking at it. i said its like if you standing right in the center...so for example someone on your five o clock would be behind you to the right...correct? six would be directly behind you, 1 would be ahead of you and to the right? correct? or am i wrong?

and is there any website that explains this so i can show the person i was having the discussion with.

It's if you were in the center. 12 is straight ahead, 3 is to your right, six to your rear, 9 to your left....

When someone in the military sends you an email and tells you to "check your six", the email is most likely porn.
