Well my son is turning 16 in october and I told him to find a car that's less than $4,000. It has to get good gas mileage and i'm not getting him a V8 cuz they suck gas. He found a 2000 svt contour on craigslist for $3,600 obo. It looks really clean besides a few scratches and dings and the interier is a 9/10 if not a 10/10. The guy that has it said the rear bumper looks like it was spray painted and it needs a clear coat. It has a K&N filter the rest is stock. 110,000 miles it's the guys DD so it must be reliable. Do yall think it's a good price for this car?

Get them to knock off ~$200 for the repaint of the bumper since they noted the price to be obo. If it's truly been spray painted it's gonna need more than a clear coat. I've driven the same car and it's quite peppy for what it has. That interior looks great as you mentioned so for ~$3,400 negotiated I'm gonna say jump all over it.

Assume no issues it is. I'd make sure you take it out and drive it aggressively to ensure there isn't anything hidden in the trans (i.e. syncros).
