A few days ago, I had a guy in mid 90's Vette come up on me real strong. Even though the left lane was open, he felt the need to ride me in the right lane. I did a courtesy downshift into third at about 70 mph, figuring the noise would scare him off. No such luck. Finally he got tired of riding me and went for the pass. He kind of pissed me off, so I had to show him that he came up on a Cobra, not a GT. Well, we both dug in hard, but I have to admit, I couldn't lose him. I backed off at about 120 (too much traffic), but he continued on to 120+ and finally passed me. As he drove by, I could hear his engine reving really high and it made me laugh (I still had a solid 2000 RPM left in my powerband). Although I didn't pull away from him, I think he was surprised I was able to keep up with him so easily. Hopefully, he has a new found respect for Mustangs - Cobras in particular : )
