Im about to get some drag radials, my dalema is....... Should i run a set of 275/40/r17 on a 8in wide rim(stock gt) or a P275/60R15 on a 7in rim(V6 rim).

Also i think im will run into a mounting issue with the V6 rims, if so what do i need to make them fit.

Is there a better tire for me:shrug: I will only be using these driving to the track, and driving to the local street race spot. Both are within 15 miles.

275 on the stock rims is the best. That other setup would not hook well at all. Plus its a large tire for your power level.

My stock cobra rims still are gonna have F1s, 275s are to big???
I figured the 255s would be way to small, i figured id spin them easy from a dead stop.

Drag radials don't well at all on a rim to small for them.

So your saying the 255s will hook better then the 275s on a 7in wide rim.
Lets say the were 8in wide rims, that is when i would need the wider rim.

I am assuming that you have an 03/04 cobra??? I would suggest the MT ET Street, bias ply tire, not the drag radial....They hook awesome, eliminate wheel hop, and are DOT legal so you can drive on the street with them.

Yes the 255 tire fits on a 7" wheel better. I would do the 275's on stock wheels though. Also for street racings a drag radial hooks better than the et streets bias tires imo

Why not just get two 03 cobra rims for them? That way it'll match and it will be a 9in rim......

Because im cheap lol, and i can get two 8in rim for 30 bucks.
