Any Miami/Port of Miami Coast Guard personnel on here.

Lately I've been contemplating applying.

Im 27 years old prior service Air Force 6 years AD.

Specialized in Law Enforcement and Fire Protection.

I'm interested in a Law Enforcemet or Weapons Systems job in the Coast Guard Reserve.

Any advice would be appreciated!

I would definatley talk to a recruiter and find out what options are available for you.. also UNITED STATES COAST GUARD: should help you as well. The waiting list I heard is pretty long to join..

Yea I sent in my info.

Man I need that new career motivation again, I miss the military!
I get job satisfaction over here in the desert as a firefighter but this isn't a stable career and I have no desire to do DoD Fire Protection ever again.

Right now I'm good though Ill do waiting list I'm contracting overseas making six figures a year till then.....life is good!:)

Inquire about the ME rating when you talk to a recruiter. Sounds like Maritime Enforcement Specialist would be right up you alley.

BM here. I tried to be a reservist at Miami Beach back in 2003. They treated reservists like shit. I said screw that noise and went IRR. (quit) came back to active duty in 2005 and couldn't be happier.
