The socialism is the fact that SNAP recipients can pop out 12 kids, pollute society, not pay for crap, get more back in taxes than they paid in, and the system demands that I pay extra because they don't.
It's wealth redistribution. The "better system" that exists in other countries may work better because there are less leeches on the system. Have you ever worked for a smaller company that is self-paid for medical insurance? All it takes is one chain-smoking tobacco-chewing food blister to ruin the rates for everyone. Why should I pay more because of someone else's poor life choices?
In an ideal system, you pay for services rendered, or services aren't rendered. Nature owes us nothing.
