Hi there I just got my mach1 about a week ago. It only has 12k miles right now. So this car has an extremely short shift throws an a rather rigid clutch so it took me some getting used to. In the process I accidentally didn't push the clutch down 100% the full way when I was at around 1300rpm slowing down resulting in a bit of grinding. I felt terrible about it and I was just wondering how bad is this for my transmission? I have a friend who owns a Manual mercedes and he did something similar at around 4k rpm and he says he might be hearing a slight noise from the tranny since but he's not sure.

Obviously, don't make it a habit! You're fine though, you'll get the hang of the car.

I've never heard of anyone doing any damage from missing a gear. I think we have all missed or ground a gear on more than one occasion. I think you will be fine.
