I have a 03 Mach 1 with headers, cold air intake, and 4:10 gears. A buddy wants to run me at our local 1/4 track. He has a mid early to mid 70's 350 with headers, and 3:55 gears and 4 speed. How bad of a beating is he looking at?

hard to tell with older cars.. my brother's 69 camaro had a pieced together nothing special 350 in it with junk factory stock heads, a muncie 4 speed and a small GM factory cam and ran 8.50s in the eighth with a 2.20 60 foot.
and its all in the tune on them.. if someone can't adjust a carb right or set timing right on an older car it can really hold it back

IDK I still feel the mach should get it in the 1/4. I mean with sticky tires and just exhaust you're in the high 12's. I thought the older muscle cars ran 14's:shrug:

i agree you can make 450 out of a 350. but if the chevelle is an all steel can that power to weight ratio would be in the mach 1's favor but again it all depends on what's done to the chevelle
