Hey guys anybody know off the top of the head what the plastic shell under the decklid on a 98 Cobra is for? Is it just to protect the amps? or another purpose. Also does anyone know how to remove it if it isn't necessary?
Its a plastic box that runs the length of the decklid below the rear speakers. I can see the amps mounted on either side. I am almost positive my 95 GT didn't have this and it had the Mach 460 also.
All Mach sound systems have it, it is the box for the rear "sub woofer" speakers.
Not that it matters, the mach sound system is mediocre at best, however it does sound 100 times better with a new head unit. And since I'm not an audiophile that is the only mod I did to the system.
