Bolt-ons + Nitrous or supercharger would do it for certain; stroker kit/heads/cam work would get you there also. Depending on how aggressive the cam is, he's got to be getting close to 400 RWHP.

If you do full bolt-ons and you're a *really* good driver, and the other driver is just a so-so driver, then you might be able to take him.

I wouldn't mind having a WS6 in my stable.

a heads/cam/intake/exhaust LS1 if done right should be north of 400 rwhp...you gonna need nitrous or forced induction to hang....

Yep. I helped a buddy of mine throw a cam in his 2000 SS a couple of months ago. B4 the cam, it was a drivers race between us, with his cam, it's adios aMEgo. He's probably pushing 420+rwhp at this point.
