FWIW I figured I would provide a picture of how I setup my pulley puller whilst removing the stock one on my 2013 GT500. I searched up and down the internet trying to find some info on said process with no luck. I've pulled multiple 3V GT Pulleys and they're nothing like this monster. Also I have provided a picture of the mammoth pulley remover I rented from NAPA: Evercraft 776-8033.

Hope this helps some of you DIY guys.

Cheers.

I have not pulled one of these, but sometimes you have to reverse the hooks on the puller. (for inside holes)

I manipulated the puller in every way imaginable, tried 3 different ones. Being bent over the front of the car whilst attempting to line up the puller on the little amount of material that's there and then trying to avoid damaging the radiator... I highly recommend pulling from the outside with said puller above. Right tool for the job, took 2 minutes to remove at that point.

On the 3V motors, I pull from the inside every time. But there's substantially more material on those older pulleys.

I used a puller with teeth that gripped the inside. I forgot which kind it was (I think for a pontiac) but it did the trick. I've had my lower on for almost 2 years now and i love it.

The problem with pulling from the outside is the risk of damaging not only the balancer but also the pulley.

Not sure if I understand what you mean. The entire balancer/pulley came off without a hitch. Literally slid off with just initial resistance from the factory press. If you mess up and pull from the inner lip instead of the hub you could separate the vulcanized rubber that connects the two but I guess if you have the right puller the inside pull would be cake.
