low fuel light, how many miles left?

just out of curiousity i have always wondered how far can you go once the low fuel light comes on? i havent tested it yet myself

2 gallons left which averages out to 30-45 miles. i wouldn't try and go too far...pretty much find the nearest gas station to fill up.

It's a 15 gallon tank, correct?
If so, then my light usually comes on with about 1.5 gallons left.

my car has been on E before and it still hasnt came on, i have yet to see it ever come on. i dont trust it at all.
