loud knocking/clicking when turning

What is the loud knocking/clicking noise coming from my front wheels when turning? Making a u-turn, parking, etc. My L is a new 2003 with 3000 miles. Just curious as to what is making this noise and if it is a problem.

check the bolts holding the a-arms, seen where they are loose and cause a popping sound.

might be bad strut bearings or ball joints.

My '02 did the same thing. I just took it to the shop and 5 minutes later they had tightened something and it's been ok since. I know JLP sells clunk washers also (if it comes down to that):beer:

You's gots the clunk Check the cam bolts and the lower control arm bolts. Probably need some new washers in there and you'll be set :beer:

DANG..I was wondering what that noise was on my 2000 L. I was just about to post the same question. I guess I am going to take it to Ford to get it fixed. My car is still under warranty, do you think I will have to pay anything, or is that covered?

I was wondering if it was also a serious problem? It seems to drive fine and everything...

It should be fine, just tell the dealership about it whenever you get your oil changed

Both my '00 and now my '02 had and have 'the clunk'. My .02, buy the anti-clunk washers and be done with it.
