I finally took the plunge and got the stripes painted on the Shelby (including rockers). Of course to do it I got the entire car re-painted. Looks much more complete, no small white spaces between the edges. Favorite detail is that the stripes go straight through the license plate area. Also got the strut brace painted white and the coil covers painted blue /w white. The supercharger had been previously painted by the same guy. This 7 year old baby looks brand new now.

The car looks great with the painted stripes. I really like the way they carry right up to the edges of each panel. Not to mention the gloss. Still looks stock, but better!

The car looks great. Who's radiator cover are you using? You've got to get the strut brace striped to match now!

How much it costs and how much it cost me are very different in this case, lol. I'd imagine $4,000 for the whole repaint and stripes and maybe $200 for the covers and strut brace. My paint guy is the best, he even cleaned the inside spotless, buffed and waxed the whole car, cleaned the engine bay completely, and took off the wheels and hand polished inside and out. Now I'm scared to drive it anywhere, this is literally the cleanest it will ever be!

It's the JLT radiator, it's a very quality piece. He ended up repainting that too, I guess the stripes are slightly different widths throughout the car, so he simplified it and made it one uniform size, which included slightly widening the stripes on the cover. At least that's how I understood it.

I thought about the stripes on the brace, but didn't want it to be too busy around the supercharger and take away from it. I still don't know what the correct answer is, I just know the white is much better than the black.

Looks great, amazing what some fresh paint can do. I'm sure years from now after mines faded enough I'd do the same.

P.S. Lose the stock mirrors and get some agent 47's painted white, will look killer. Those stock mirrors have no business being on a sports car.
