Im trying to tell a friend hes pretty much screwed. He lost his cell phone at the airport and he told me that it was unlocked with no pin, or swipe. Im sure whoever found it has already taken out the sim card and did a factory reset on it. His service was with AT&T.. anybody wanna chime in?? Im sure its about to wind up on Ebay or Craigslist. Can they even track phones in his situation??

Depends on the phone type and like recommended above the company can turn the phone into a brick on the network just from the serial. If it's an android you can track with lostmyandroid.com it can remote install the app and track the phone.
thats what i think, hes screwed. esp since the dumbazz didnt even have it locked. how can u not even lock your phone
more like how the hell do you lose your phone.its essential nowdays just like carrying money
im telling ya i work at the airport, ppl leave everything behind. phones, tablets, coats, luggage..it just never ends. they are in such a rush to get off the planes they cant even think straight!
