Are you replacing everything? I rebuilt mine about 3-4 months ago with new gears, bearings, clutch packs. Only thing I used was the Ford IRS rebuild manual that I found online somewhere digitally on my iPad. Has everything you need to know, and torque specs. Only thing I didn't use/do per the tech. manual is use a case spreader, since my differential carrier slid out pretty easily for me. I was going to do some upgrades while I was in there, like studding the bearing caps but couldn't find studs that would work. They are all made for the SRA pumpkins it seems. Let me know if you need some help or advice. Setting the pinion preload and the right amount of backlash is a lot easier than it looks on paper, so don't let that scare you. Be sure you have some kind of dial indicator to get the right readings on the backlash settings.
