Like the title says, I'm looking to buy an HD camera (for my brother's birthday) and was wondering what you people have? Good sound recording is paramount. I'd also like one with a fairly wide (or adjustable) FOV so it can be mounted in a car interior to record that way.

(its something that records video, so I thought it should go here)

GoPro HD or the 2nd Generation Flip Mino HD are the best bangs for your buck. Go with the GoPro if you want to mount it places and I think it comes with a waterproof case which is always nice, but its twice the price of the Flip.
If you do buy a Flip, the best price is on Amazon (or if you dont want to wait for shipping go to BestBuy and they will price match from Amazon.com).

I plan on picking up a Flip Mino this weekend.

I've had good luck with my Flip HD. Here's a video I took this past weekend...
