Snow tires and save money

This. I've been driving fwd cars in the snow for years in the north east and its been fine. Im not sure how much snow you get in north TX, but good tires make all the difference. If you need to get a 4x4, id go with an xj cherokee.

Hi guys/gals,
I live in North Texas and I currently drive a 2004 Honda Civic as my daily and last winter I felt very uncomfortable in the small car in occasional snow and ice.
I'm looking for a 2nd daily driver vehicle under $10,000.
Any advice on what's a good vehicle to get me through the winter for several seasons and something I can use in the summer that's big and safe that will also
I've been looking at the following:
1995-1999 Chevy Silverado z71s (thinking I prefer a pickup)
1996 Ford Bronco

What other options are out there?

Thank you kindly!

Sounds like you need better tires on your civic. A fwd car with very good tires should have no problem with the "bad" weather we had in DFW (I didnt and I had Michelin A/S tires).

You shouldnt have a problem finding a 99-06 Silverado 4x4 in your price range though if you do want a larger vehicle.

I have done some incredible snow driving with a 95 accord and fresh 185 series snow tires. Get 4 hankook winter I-pikes and don't worry.
