Well, I am off to Iraq again for at least a year, and my car will be going into storage for the entire time. Here is my plan. All fluids will be changed, battery removed, car on jackstands, tires removed, ragtop protectant for my top, and a full tank of gas with fuel stabilizer. Anybody have anymore suggestions? Also, do you think I should reflash the computer back to stock before I go. I am a little worried about my predator sitting for over a year and dumping my stock factory tune.

Where are you located, Dry,Wet, Winters, Humid

condition the leather seats thoroughly, & ask someone to do it for you once in a while. WD-40 - buy a gallon & a spray bottle and coat the undercarriage, engine bay and other areas. Car over & co to Walmart and get 2 cheap quilts to put on top of it to protect from dings. there are bags that you can put inside the car that absorb moisture, but I can't find them now, maybe if you keep a cover on it, keep the windows cracked an inch or so so you don't get mold growing inside it.

be careful, what are you going to be doing out there?

Thanks for the response JJPMach1. My car will be stored indoors in pretty much a climate controlled room. I had definitely planned on conditioning the interior of my car before leaving. Thanks for the suggestions regarding the other areas. As far as what I will be doing over there, I fly the aircraft (AH-64D apache longbow) in my signature above. We conduct a wide variety of missions in Iraq, everything from Close Combat Attacks to V.I.P. escort. Thanks again for the response!

That's awesome

Well be safe, blast those bastards and come back soon to race again.

The conditioned garage will do great, you should have no problems there at all, moisture is the biggest problem, I've had a car stored for 3 years outside and didn't have any rust issues at all and It started with no problem. BTW it was a 73 mustang conv, 302 with 120k miles, so don't worry about your car.

good luck

if its going to be at least a year before anyone drives it, i'd pull the valve covers and remove the lash adjusters. one cylinder will always have its exhaust valves open while another will have its intake valves open. with a pushrod engine you'd just loosen the rocker arms.

sitting is so hard on a car. cant get someone to drive it once every 6 weeks or so?
