local Mustang mach 1 hits 12.90s

This guy is apart of the local mustang club. His car only has a magnaflow x-pipe, cat back and K & N. He ran 12.90 on stock crappy goodyear's. He told me he is the fastest Smog legal Mach1 on the Mach 1 registery with a radial tire. Most Mach 1's can only muster mid 13's around here. This guy is a good driver and also good track prep helps.

I have a friend that ran a 13.01 104 MPH in his stock 04 Mach 1. BTW, he had a 98 Cobra and could run 13.10 Stock forgot the MPH. I had a 97 Cobra and ran best of 13.58 102 mph stock (K&N Filter and air box removed and on nitto DR's). I always wondered why his 98 was so much quiker than my 97. I also noticed, that a Guy by the name of Mike ? from Woodbridge also ran 13.10's in a stock 98. Were the 98's really that fast, or did they get factory freaks?

A local old man has magnaflow X pipe, magnaflow catback, and a shifter runs 8.1's in the 1/8 down here in Ft. Worth. I think he does that on ET streets, so technically...it's a radial tire.

I thought stock 98's ran low 14's?

I ran a 12.90 on stock tires also with mods in sig.
Last weekend I ran a 12.765 @ 108.17 with a 1.860 60' on Dr's ( stock gears )

Supposidly the 98's had a different, slightly better computer.

fastest pure stock Mach 1

I was wondering what is the fastest anyone ever went in a Mach 1 bone stock. No exhaust, x- pipe etc... Alot of people don't believe me when I tell them this even my buddy who has a Azure Blue Mach 1.

Stock I ran the times in the sig with 200 miles on it. Should be slightly better now.

i ran in my 98 cobra 13.3 at 105.6 mph with my factory meats and just a cold air kit and off road h-pipe. and just adding a 430 gear and MT streets on it I run 12.5 all day long. Sorry also have a short throw too lol.

The pre-98s used a cast IMRC whereas the 98s had a composite IMRC. Better port matching on the 98s helped a little...

How do you like the SLP? I've heard alot of sound clips but I like to get a first hand account.
