I am taking my snake in for service. The last two times I have taken it, the dealer always seems to get me the worst car they have. Could I get a new Taurus or at least a Focus? Or do I have to take what they give me? Last two times I got a 99 escort with no options.I don't want to end up driving around in a escort again!!:cryying:

They are doing you a favor, saving you all that gas money, and you don't even appreciate it:shrug:
Just kidding, hope you won't be without your ride long:thumbsup:

Are they making you PAY to style around in the stripper Escort? Last few times they let me pay all the taxes on my classy (stripped Focus) "loaner".........

My dealership had been really good about giving me a good vehicle for no cost. Up until yesterday. I put my car in the shop to repaint the front bumper that THEY scratched pretty bad while replacing my head lamps.

They offered to pay for an escort, I said NO, it's your fault for scratching my bumper They ended up giving me a TrailBlazer for $5 a day plus tax. Better than the escort, I guess.

RO COBRA - I agree, but they did offer a free rental. An Escort, but I insisted on a 4 door SUV. Hence the difference between the two is $5 a day.. I'm not complaining, I am just waiting to hear 2 words from them "BUY BACK"..

According to the warranty policy on all 01 SVT'S, you are entitled up to a mid-size car i.e. contour, camry, even a taurus. You don't have to take what they throw at ya!!!

You mean they stick you with lowly escort twice, and then as a step up, give you a DODGE?! What the hell are they smoking? Both times that I've had mine in I got a decent car (Sable and Taurus)............

I haven't had to have service on my 01 Cobra yet, but due to a suspected clutch problem, I likely will soon. Is there any documentation of this 01 SVT Service warranty that I can print off? I read it online months ago about getting the mid-size loaner, free wash & vacuum, but since there was no information presented at time of purchase, I worry they'll try to claim there isn't any kind of special SVT service.

You shouldn't worry.....if the dealership knows their arse from a hole in the ground, they'll know that if they take a 2001 or newer SVT vehicle in for warranty work, they have to provide a loaner (usually through a rental agency). They are also required to wash and vacuum the interior. I have the documentation somewhere, but forgot about it since I've never had a problem with it (It's in right now at 29000 miles for oil consumption, squeaky windows, clutch issues and tranny grinding into third, they gave me a Taurus again). But, I was also informed that an escort and a focus are also considered "mid-size" vehicles, so you might end up with one of those. So I wouldn't worry about getting the free loaner.

Well if you have any '01 SVT brochures they do state you are entitled to loaner and wash and vacuum. However after 7 or so service visits my car has been washed and vacuumed 1 time. Free loaner? Well not exactly. I get to pay all sales taxes and I get to drive a POS stripped out Focus. Ford's corporate policy is $28 a day max anything over that is either covered by you or the dealer (if they're not a bunch of assholes which my dealer is :cuss: ). All in all my service experience with Ford has pretty much sucked ass.

I do happen to have Xeroxed and original '01 SVT Cobra brochures that do state loaner & free wash and vacuum. I'd be happy to fax it to ya if ya wanted.

I have had to pay the tax once.. I have been in a Taurs for about 3 weeks now. They will hear it from me if I have to pay the stupid tax on 3 weeks. I hate that Cobra's have no parts avail. They are always back ordered. I haven't had too many problems wih rentals..

Now getting it Vacumed and washed..... That is another story. I think the have not done it half the time.. I ussually remind them and they take it to the wash bay and clean it really quick. Crappy wash is sometimes better than none..

I'm currently driving a stripped down POS focus, while they replace my engine.. Hopefully it'll be done today.. I don't know how much longer I can handle the Foci...

I think the whole point of this thread is that you are entitled up to a mid-size car. You don't have to take a pos Malibu. How do you know your dealer charged SVT full price when ALL you got is a POS?
