I bet it's loud as hell, and that's about it.
Probably. I worked in the service department at a Chevy dealer (and drove a Ford to work LOL) when these things were new. Aside from doing a decent burnout, I was not impressed. I mean, come on, a 454 that was rated at 230-250 HP? WTF? The first gen L's were rated at 240 with a 351!

How was a red interior like that ever popular?

Beats me. GM has always had shitty interiors.

Sweet. Love the red interior, cassette player, and lack of overdrive. That thing would totally destroy my Lightning if it just had a head, cam, intake, and maybe nitrous.

All kidding aside, it would do a great job pulling a trailer with the Turbo 400 and the torque of the 454.

i dont know what you guys are laughing at. my friend with one of these put a holley 750 on his, a better manifold and a better exhaust and hes making 550 to the wheels. These motors are severely detuned from the factor and it only takes you about $1500 to get you into the 550-600hp range.

:bs: I know a local guy who has one with aftermarket heads and a supercharger and it doesnt make that kinda power to the wheels, i kinda dought your goin to get that kinda power to the wheels with a carb, intake and exhaust? I'm interested to see it,really!

Always wanted to see what one of these would do with TPI instead of the throttle body injection.

Holy red interiors!!! What were the design guys at Chevy smoking when they made that interior color decision????? I particularly like the portion of the listing that says they have some 2010's on their lot with more imperfections than this truck, now that's a way to rake in the customers. They need to be a little less worried about talking up this so called "lightning killer" and worry a little more on their boys in the ad department.

I'd LOVE to see that dyno sheet/vid.

That truck was an embarrassment to the automotive industry. I knew many Chevy guys who wished that truck was never made. It was a total disgrace to all 454's. Back in the day my '87 Escort GT used hang with those.

So you're saying that with a carb, intake, and exhaust, he picked up 300+ HP? :bs::bs::bs: Somebody has been watching too much Horsepower TV.

Damn that thing is clean.

I wouldn't mind having one in the garage. :shrug:A couple of mods would be in order soon after though. Drop, wheels, full exhaust, debadging, loose the hideous bed cover, and a couple of go-fast mods. I think it's a pretty cool truck. One of my buddies had one in High School. Fun times.
